TRMC 2022 Call for Papers

The 2022 International Tourism and Retail Service Management Conference — TRMC 2022 is hosted by the University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (USA) in partnership with Breda University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands), Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (Macau, SAR-China), Nankai University (China), Sunway University (Malaysia) and Zhejiang University City College (China). Please join us for this two-day, online conference that will advance innovation, collaboration and knowledge in the fields of international tourism and retail services management.

 

 

This year’s theme, Emerging from turbulent times: Global adaptions in tourism and retailing services, comprises a timely range of topics on industry evolution and resilience, including tourism and retail challenges, customer motivations and experiences, industry innovations, marketing trends, as well as COVID-19-specific impacts and solutions.

 

Researchers, graduate students and industry professionals from around the world are invited to share and discuss research and findings on these important topics that are shaping the future of tourism, retail and service management.

 

Call for Papers

The International Tourism and Retail Service Management Conference invites submissions for research presentations at TRMC 2022.

 

The all-virtual TRMC 2022 is hosted by the University of South Carolina's College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management in partnership with Breda University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands), Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (Macau, SAR-China), Nankai University (China), Sunway University (Malaysia) and Zhejiang University City College (China) from October 19 – 20, 2022 (U.S. EST Time 8 a.m. – noon).

 

The conference theme, “Emerging from turbulent times: Global adaptions in tourism and retailing services” focuses on a broad range of contemporary topics in tourism, hospitality and retail, as well as the emerging changes and challenges in the “new normal” era.

 

We welcome researchers and industry professionals to share their experiences and findings at TRMC 2022.

Submissions and Deadlines

TRMC 2022 welcomes two forms of research submissions: extended abstract (500 – 1,000 words, excluding references) OR full paper (5,000 – 7,000 words, including references). Once submitted, papers will undergo a blind-review process.

 

Deadlines

  July 15, 2022: Online paper submission closes at 11:59 p.m. EST, USA

  Aug. 15, 2022: Notification of acceptance; registration opens

  Sep. 15, 2022: Early bird registration deadline and presenter registration deadline

  Sep. 15, 2022: Final abstract / full paper submission due by 11:59 p.m. EST, USA

  Oct. 10, 2022: Regular registration deadline

 

Featured conference journals

All quality papers submitted to the conference will have the opportunity, by invitation, to submit and be published in the featured conference journals. All selected papers will go through a double-blind review process managed by the editorial team of the journal. Papers submitted to the journal will need to comply with the submission guidelines and quality standards of the journals. These journals are:

Submission Guidelines

The 4th International Tourism and Retail Service Management Conference (TRMC 2022) welcomes two forms of submissions: Extended abstract or full paper.

 

General Guidelines

  All submissions must be written in English and uploaded in PDF format.

  The title of your paper should be written IN ALL CAPS, bold and centered (Times New Roman, font 12).

  Headings such as Introduction, Methods, and Results / Discussion / Implication should align left, bold, Times New Roman, font 12.

  All body text should be single-spaced, Times New Roman, font 12.

  There should not be any space between the heading and body text.

  Do not indent the first paragraph after a heading but indent all the following paragraphs.

  In-text citations should follow the APA 7th format.

  Please align text on both sides / use “justified” text alignment.

  If you include abbreviations and acronyms, provide the full terms when you first introduce them.

  Please do not include any author names or institution names in the PDF file or file name.

  When you upload your submission into the call for papers system, you must also enter a short abstract (maximum 150 words) and 5 keywords to define the research topic.

  Submissions must be original work and should not have been previously published nor under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  Individual and multiple authors are welcome to contribute.

  At least one author must register to attend and present at the conference if their submission is accepted.

  Only full paper submissions will be considered for Pest paper Awards. All papers will be submitted for a double-blind review by the scientific committee. Best paper awards will be competitively selected by the scientific committee after assessing the final version of the full paper submitted.

 

Extended abstract submission

  500 to 1,000 words (excluding short abstract and references)

  The extended abstract should include:

Introduction

Methodology (research design, sampling and population, data collection and analytical methods may be included)

Results / discussion / implication

References

 

Full paper submission

  5,000 to 7,000 words, including references

  The sections should include:

Abstract (up to 150 words) with 5 keywords

Introduction

Literature review (critical review on relevant literature, conceptual framework)

Methodology (research design, sampling and population, data collection and analytical methods may be included)

Results

Discussion and conclusion

References

  Quality papers submitted to the conference will have a chance to be invited to submit for publication in featured journals.

Please use this general guideline / template for either the extended abstract or full paper submission. It contains the proper formatting and font style required and can be used as a template for your entry.
